If you are considering relocating or just
visiting, you will find many community services in Carmine.
UTILITIES. The City of Carmine offers public water and sewer systems.
Weekly curbside garbage pick-up is available
through the city. The City of Carmine is led by a Mayor and five aldermen, which are elected by city residents.
Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative, a member-owned electrical service provider,
provides electric service to the Carmine area. The City of Carmine and County of Fayette provide Recycling Services to the
community of Carmine. On a weekly basis, the Carmine City Hall serves as a collection point for all recyclable materials.
CITY PARK & RECREATION. The City of Carmine provides a l½ acre
park, which is open to the public. The park is equipped with picnic tables, Bar-B-Que pits and playgrounds for children. A
Pavilion is also located within the park, which is available for rental through the city.
Presently, the City Park is seeking funding for a park renovation project.
COMMUNICATIONS.
Industry Telephone Company, an independently owned and locally operated
telecommunications provider, provides reliable telephone services to the Carmine area. Industry I-Net provides Internet
Services, including high speed DSL (Digital Subscriber Line), to the Carmine
area. Satellite television service is available thru a number of
providers. EMERGENCY SERVICES. The
Carmine Volunteer Fire Department offers both fire protection
and emergency services to the city and community of Carmine.
Comprised solely of volunteers, the fire department holds an annual
feast each July, which supports their operations. The department operates out of
a newly constructed fire
station and continually updates its equipment and conducts new training. The fire department also has a team of First Responders, which respond to
all medical emergencies in the community and administer basic aid until Emergency Medical Services arrive. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) are provided by Fayette County, with personnel and units stationed
throughout the county. Neighboring Washington County also provides Emergency Medical Services to the Carmine area. A Critical Air
Helicopter is stationed just miles from Carmine and serves the surrounding area. Two area hospitals,
St. Mark's Medical Center in La Grange and Trinity
Medical Center of Brenham, provide a 24-hour Emergency Department. LAW ENFORCEMENT. The Fayette County Sheriff’s Department provides law enforcement
and patrols the city and community of Carmine. The department has deputies residing within the community and City of Carmine and
provides frequent patrolling and rapid response times.
